Announcing the Official Publication of the RESET Embodied Standard v2, including Health, Circularity, and Carbon.

After five years of refinement with pioneering companies across hundreds of architecture and interior projects, the RESET Embodied Standard has now officially been published. The standard, its bespoke product datasets, calculators, and benchmarks now become more broadly available to project owners and their consultants, globally.
The RESET Standard and Certification Program was born out of the belief that improving the sustainability performance of projects requires deep, sector-specific expertise.
Whereas broad, generalist standards are useful in helping educate users across a wide range of topics, they generally struggle to deliver impact that is both measurable and meaningful.
This is especially true for complex topics such as the embodied impact of projects, including their materials and construction.
The RESET Embodied Standard was created to help project teams measure, understand, and improve their projects. As a modular standard, it empowers users to become experts and create meaningful improvement, one area of impact at a time.
This approach also creates higher quality results, helping companies report and communicate their progress with confidence, particularly once verified and certified.
A unique strength of the RESET Embodied Standard is the equal treatment of Interior Construction vs. Core & Shell, properly acknowledging the importance of interiors over the lifecycle of a building, as well as the split in responsibility between tenants and landlords that is endemic to most commercial buildings.
The RESET Embodied Standard is the first in the world to include a holistic standard specific to interiors, built from the ground up to reflect the needs and reality of global tenants.
This critical distinction makes RESET the only standard capable of systematically assigning Scope 3 emissions between tenant and landlord, simplifying an otherwise enormously complex task.
Aligned with ISO Standards, the GHG Protocol, and ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards), the RESET Standard and Certification Program is tailored for users seeking advanced guidance, bespoke data, tools and benchmarks specific to the built environment. It is designed to help project teams improve as well as corporate teams report results.
Whereas building codes and legislation are designed to raise the floor of the industry, RESET’s purpose is to raise the ceiling.
About RESET Embodied Standard
RESET Embodied is first and foremost an accounting and auditing standard for environmental performance. Its primary purpose is to ensure that results are transparent, accurate, representative, comparable, and replicable. RESET is closer in nature to financial accounting and auditing standards than it is to green building standards that are based on qualitative scorecards and point systems.
