The Shanghai Hongqiao Cordis Hotel Becomes World’s First RESET Air Certified Hotel

Cordis, (meaning ‘heart’ in Latin) is an upscale hotel brand whose holistic concept focuses on the core pillars of intuitive service and connectivity. In keeping with the award-winning Langham Hospitality Group, the newest addition in the evolving portfolio of innovative hotels and resorts is the chic Cordis Shanghai, Hongqiao hotel located in the heart of the Hongqiao commercial hub.

But the Cordis Shanghai, Hongqiao experience doesn’t stop there.  With a concerted focus on health and wellness, visitors are now privy to staying in the world’s first RESET Air Certified hotel where indoor air quality data is continuously collected and reported to all guests.

 

The RESET™ Air Building Standard, is an international building certification program that helps to improve indoor environments and increase occupant wellness on a global scale. Touted as the world’s first sensor-based, performance-driven building certification program, the coveted RESET Air Certification award is achieved only when projects properly monitor indoor air quality and maintain thresholds as prescribed by the Standard.

 

Unique to Cordis, promoting the health of guests and staff is not an afterthought but a priority.  Early in the design phases, the hotel brand made the decision to implement an indoor air quality plan to help ensure the health and comfort of guests, visitors and staff alike.  Enlisting the professional consultancy of PureLiving China, the project team installed state-of-the-art filtration systems into the HVAC design and deployed RESET Air Accredited Monitors to ensure ongoing air quality monitoring.  Impressively, all 396 guestrooms, suites and common areas actively monitor air quality, optimized to maintain levels of PM2.5 (particulate matter) in accordance with US EPA recommended threshold of less than 35 ug/m³.

 

 

Further, in keeping with RESET Air Certification requirements as well as Cordis’ ethos to support their guest’s physical and mental comfort, guestrooms and suites display the indoor air quality data on individual room television screens making this a truly personalized and intimate health and wellbeing experience.
