Symbiosy by HB Reavis joins RESET in piloting real-time building optimization index against airborne infections
Symbiosy, a real-estate technology solution which turns offices into smart workspaces, created by international workspace provider, HB Reavis, joins the RESET Standard in piloting the use of air quality monitors to measure and communicate building optimization against airborne viral infections.
“The RESET Index was initially developed to communicate the health performance of real-estate in real-time,” says Raefer Wallis, Founder of RESET. “Over the past five months, it has been dramatically expanded to include the risk of viral transmission from aerosols. This has been made possible by painstakingly translating laboratory science into an operational standard for air quality metrics that can be tracked by sensors - evaluating virus survivability, immune system impact, dosage (exposure over time) and final infection rates. We’re very excited to have Symbiosy by HB Reavis participating in piloting the index - their experience in operating some of Europe’s healthiest and most innovative buildings will help provide invaluable insights.”
The RESET Index will be piloted with Symbiosy, HB Reavis’ pioneering smart workspace solution.
Symbiosy was amongst the first real-estate platforms that developed a disease prevention score, available to occupiers in real-time long before COVID-19, demonstrating a clear alignment with RESET in creating user-centric smart spaces which nurture wellbeing, productivity, and most importantly health.
Realising that vision is now more critical than ever, and Symbiosy is proud to be supporting organisations around the world in rebuilding trust and delivering safer, healthier workspaces for their employees. This has been made possible by Symbiosy’s rapid response to COVID-19, where existing solutions were adapted to improve workplace cleanliness, reduce touchpoints, and deliver indoor contact tracing. A collaboration with RESET is set to further expand upon the Symbiosy Safe & Healthy offering.
“This is a highly necessary topic, and one that is top of mind for everyone in real estate,” says Stefan Schmidt of Symbiosy. “Symbiosy responded quickly to COVID-19, developing new functionality to support our occupiers during the pandemic. Our intent has been to expand the Symbiosy disease prevention score to include SARS-CoV-2. We’re very glad RESET has taken leadership on this: their approach is thorough and impressive. Working together will help accelerate our understanding of how to use the results for operations and communications. It will also allow us to layer in other data we collect, such as occupancy, in order to continue pushing the envelope on healthy buildings.”
