RESET is proud to announce the RESET Air Commercial Interior Certification for Hines Shanghai Office at One Museum Place.

Hines is a privately owned global real estate investment, development and management firm, founded in 1957. Hines began developing, investing and managing high quality real estate projects in China in 1995. One Museum Place in Shanghai is their latest project in China, which opened in March 2018. The Hines Office located at One Museum Place adopted the RESET Air Commercial Interior Standard to further emphasize the importance of indoor air quality, and to ensure the office environment is healthy at all times.

RESET Air is the world’s first sensor-based, performance-driven building certification program where indoor air quality (IAQ) is monitored and measured in real-time. To achieve RESET Air Commercial Interior certification, the Hines Shanghai Office was required to consistently ensure that their IAQ, as calculated by the RESET Air Methodology for Data Analysis, met the Basic Performance criteria for 3 consecutive months:

Additionally, temperature and relative humidity must be continuously monitored although no specific thresholds are prescribed.

Hines Shanghai Office began its Data Audit period in April 2019 and since then, it has been continuously meeting the RESET Air requirements. The office continues monitor its air quality throughout the year, in order to maintain its RESET accreditation. Further, as required by RESET, IAQ data will be reported to staff and occupants on a daily basis.

According to Jim Morrison, Senior Managing Director, Hines China,

“Hines is pleased to lead the market with RESET Air Certification in One Museum Place - both in the building as well as our office. Different from other building certifications, RESET’s focus on continuous monitoring of indoor air quality will help us ensure our staff are in a healthy environment. This is extremely valuable for us since we have noticed that an increasing number of people have expressed an interest in indoor air quality. RESET as a performance-based, technology-driven building certification aligns perfectly with Hines’ business philosophy of creating and managing ‘Intelligent Real Estate Investments”.

It is worth mentioning that Hines Shanghai Office is also piloting the RESET Material v2.0 certification, the goal of which is to measure and track chemical emission and chemical ingredients disclosure for building materials used in fitout of the space. Choosing the right decorative materials and furniture is extremely important to achieving healthy indoor air quality.
