Without materials, architecture does not exist.

Over the past millennia, we’ve mastered the art of using materials to build shelter and inspire. Yet today, materials often do more harm than good, undermining the health of the very people we aim to shelter and protect.
The harm is often either remote or hyper-local but invisible and silent, especially when it comes to indoor air quality. As a result, Architects are now required to master materials in ways they never have before.

Raefer will be presenting an overview of 18 years pursuing the design of buildings that support and regenerate our health, from award-winning architecture through to creating ORIGIN, the world’s largest public resource of data on building materials and RESET, the world’s first building standard to measure the health performance of buildings in real-time.
