GIGA and CQC announce Strategic Cooperation

4th March, 2019, Beijing.

China Quality Certification Center (CQC) and GIGA announce a Strategic Cooperation Agreement, with the goal of jointly advancing the development of Healthy Building Standards in China.
CQC is China’s largest certification body, known globally for the China Compulsory Certification mark (CCC). GIGA develops and manages RESET; an international standard for healthy buildings, as well as the ORIGIN Data Hub; the world’s largest, party-neutral repository of public building material data.

Mr. Deng Yunfeng, Head of  Quality Management and Technical Support within CQC, welcomed the collaboration with GIGA, “This cooperation is a win-win. CQC is continually improving its existing certification services as well as researching new ones in order to solve large-scale issues, such as the Healthy Building Leader Certification, which is currently under development. The RESET Standard and ORIGIN Data Hub are globally recognized, making them very complimentary to CQC and the development of Healthy Building Standards and Certification Programs in China.”

“We’re excited about this strategic collaboration with CQC,” adds Raefer Wallis, founder and CEO of GIGA, “CQC is a cornerstone of the global certification industry ; its China Compulsory Certification (CCC) is globally recognized and a household name in China. We share the same vision for healthy building certification, particularly with respect to performance-based certification, enabled with cloud technology. The RESET Standard is the global reference for data quality in healthy building, helping align standards around the world to consistently measure and communicate building performance data. We look forward to continue this work with China’s leading healthy building standards.”

In addition to jointly promoting the harmonization of Healthy Building Standards; inclusive of hardware performance, software communication, installation and maintenance of air quality monitors, and overall project performance standards, this cooperation includes CQC and and GIGA working together to advance the sharing of public product testing and certification data via the ORIGIN Data Hub.
